Our Story
Robert grew up behind the bar at Milady's, his family's beloved dive in Greenwich Village, where many called it home. What he learned there wasn't a skill. It was a feeling - what it means to walk into a room and already be known.
Adele grew up in Palermo, Sicily, where that feeling didn't have a name. It was just manners. The table was always set for one more. You didn't ask if someone wanted anything. You already knew.
Together they opened Local, a coffee shop in Montclair, NJ, and grew it into one of the 24 best coffee shops in the country, not on the coffee alone, but on the community around it. That's still Adele's doing. It doesn't have a name. It's just the way the room feels when she's in it.
They've had a home in the Catskills for over ten years. Phoenicia is where they always end up.
Good Boy Coffee is what happens when everything they've built meets the place they always end up.
Their American Staffy, ‘Chego’, gets credit for the rest.
